Camping Essentails Checklist: Be Ready for the 2026 Camping Season

Camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, whether you’re going solo, with friends, or with family. You can keep it simple with just the basics or add extra comfort with blankets, hammocks, and more. Campsites typically offer a picnic table, tent space, and parking, with some providing restrooms and running or potable water—always check ahead!

If you’re new to camping, consider borrowing or renting gear before buying the expensive stuff. Over time, packing becomes part of the adventure and this is my go-to list. Depending on how bougie I feel or how long I’m out there, I can pick and choose what I bring.

So use this handy checklist to make sure you have everything you need—whether you’re a minimalist or love bringing all the extras! There’s NO WRONG WAY TO CAMP.
